The world may have gone to hell right now, but 1st April 2020 marks a very special day in my calendar. On this day, one year ago, ‘The Burning Ash’ was finally released.
It was a dream come true for my passion project, which took over a decade of my life to create, to be out there in the world. It’s strange in a way. You always wonder how people will receive your work when you release it. And while my hope of selling a few hundred copies is still a little way away, it’s nice to see that the people who have read ‘The Burning Ash’ have enjoyed it.
Some of the things people have fed back to me over the past year have been really uplifting. Probably one of my favourite stories was that the daughter of one of the nurses looking after my Nana at her dialysis had read it and loved it. The fact that there have also been people messaging me with pictures of their copies has also been so uplifting.
So, I suppose the main thing I want to say is this. Thank you. Thank you to everyone who has bought ‘The Burning Ash’. I hope you have all enjoyed it. It’s an honour that you’ve been willing to try out my little fantasy adventure. So truly, thank you with all of my heart. I’m working on Book 2 now and I hope you’ll enjoy it just as much!
And to all of those people who haven’t read it yet? You still can! The world might be dark right now, but books and stories can bring in a little bit of light. Maybe ‘The Burning Ash’ could be a story that will brighten your day. After all, I’ve been told it’s a very uplifting and heartwarming read!
